In fact, women who report cravings tend to gain more weight than is generally considered healthy during a pregnancy, which can lead to a higher rate of complications.

Chocolate is one of the most common cravings amongst pregnant women.
A lot of expecting mums crave mashed potatoes. Changes in eating behavior during pregnancy occur due to a whole range of factors. There are a ton of people who love the whole salty/sweet combination, so thinking of a potato chip's salt mixed with the sweetness of a marshmallow makes sense.
Ice cream, cheese, & dairy products.
Okay, this picture might seem disgusting, but when you stop and think about it, it kind of makes sense. Cravings typically begin to disappear after delivery, and you won’t keep eating the same things forever. Interestingly, again and again, many women report similar cravings.
Part of the reason is that pregnancy cravings cause you to desire foods that have strong flavors, including sweet, sour, spicy, and salty.
Many pregnancy cravings are pretty normal, like salty or sweet cravings, cravings for spicy foods, but some are downright weird! Pregnancy cravings are very common (hence the old pickles and ice cream jokes). It can be both a physiological and a psychological urge.
Some women crave salty foods, others crave sour or sweet foods.
Pregnant women crave different foods, especially at the beginning of their pregnancy. Once the baby is delivered, they will disappear altogether. There could be several reasons for this, including morning sickness and heartburn.
Pregnancy and food cravings go hand in hand;
Maintaining strong iron levels is necessary for the proper growth and development of your baby, and you get that in red meat. She is overjoyed, over the moon, and wait for it, starving out of her freakin’ mind. Eating ice is a fairly common craving during pregnancy.
